Alice Pattison, 93, Dies in Hospital

Mrs. Alice Pattison, 93, of 1066 Thirty-fifth st., died of a heart ailment Monday at Des Moines General Hospital.

Born in Henry County, Ill., she had lived in Des Moines 46 years. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, Lee, a concert pianist of Claremont, Cal.; two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Wilson-Sacquety Chapel in Eagle Grove, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, there.

Former Resident Buried Here

Mrs. J. M. Patterson of Des Moines, formerly of Eagle Grove died Monday at her home in Des Moines after a short illness. At the time of her death, she was 93 years, 8 months and 6 days of age.

She is survived by one son, Lee Pattison of Claremont, Calif., who was here for the funeral services Tuesday afternoon.

Services were held at the Wilson-Sacquety chapel in charge of Rev. Roy Cox and interment was on the family lot in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Obituary

Mary Alice, daughter of William H. and Eliza E. McVicker was born in Henry County, Illinois, March 2, 1861 and passed away at the Des Moines General hospital early the morning of November 8, 1954. At the time of her death she was 93 years, 8 months, and 6 days or age.

Mrs. Pattison came with her parents as a young woman to Wright County, Iowa, settling on a farm southwest of Eagle Grove. Later she married Joseph M. Pattison a dispatcher for the Chicago North Western Railroad, and to this union, one daughter, M. Eugenia, and one son, Lee, was born. Eugenia passed away February 2, 1949 and Mrs. Pattison is survived by her son, Lee of Claremont, Calif., two grand daughters and five great grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Pattison moved from Eagle Grove to Des Moines in 1908 and she resided there since. She was for many years a member of Grace Methodist church of Des Moines.

Mrs. Pattison was deeply interested in the affairs of the world, keeping herself unusually well informed. Her family was her chief concern and it was her firm hope that she should keep an active mind until the end, and this wish was granted as she was sick but a few hours before she was called home.

Services were held at the Wilson-Sacquety Funeral Chapel at Eagle Grove, Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock and interment was made in the family lot in Rose Hill Cemetery.
