April 10, 1848 --- January 7, 1911

The remains of Mrs. J. N. McVicker were brought to this city last week Tuesday from Council Bluffs and the funeral was held in the Methodist church in the afternoon conducted by Rev. Whitney. The interment was in Rose Hill cemetery where Mr. McVicker was buried a few years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pearce [Pierce] accompanied the remains from Council Bluffs where they reside. Mrs. McVicker was well known here and leaves many friends and relatives saddened by her death.

The remains of Mrs. J. N. McVicker were shipped here from Council Bluffs last week Tuesday, and funeral services were held at the Methodist church. Mrs. McVicker was 67 years of age. Her husband was in the dray and transfer business in Eagle Grove years ago, and be was also a railroad contractor. He built several miles of the grade of the Burt-Fox Lake line. He died some five years ago. Mrs. McVicker made her home in Council Bluffs for several years in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pierce.
