EVELYN MARGARET LANE
Evelyn Margaret Packard was born on September 10, 1906, at Renwick, Iowa, to Sylvanus and Eva Woods Packard. She graduated from the Renwick High School in 1924. On August 20, 1925, she was married to Floyd Lane at her parents' home near Renwick. The couple fanned near Renwick for 60 years. They moved into Renwick in 1952. She was an active member of the Renwick United Methodist Church. She was a 4-H Leader and was a member of the former Gertrude Chapter #500 of the Order of the Eastern Star. In June, 1995, she became a resident of Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove.

Evelyn M. Lane died Saturday, March 30, 1996, at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home at the age of 89. Survivors include two sons, Joe Lane and wife Beverly, Bob Lane and wife Mary Ann, all of Renwick; one daughter, Phyllis Sande and husband Neal, Eugene, Oregon; and 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd, one infant granddaughter, and two sisters, Alpha Kleen and Ethel Bonnstetter.

Funeral services are Wednesday (today), April 3, 1996, at 10:30 a.m. at The United Methodist Church in Renwick, Iowa, with Reverend Shirley Rozendaal officiating. Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, rural Renwick. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 1996. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Renwick, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
