Bessie Lee Stafford
10 November 1892 --- 8 January 1984

Service for Bessie Stafford, 91, was today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial followed at Spokane Memorial Gardens [Spokane, Washington]. Mrs. Stafford died Sunday at Opportunity Convalescent Center. Born in Iowa, she moved to the Cheney area in 1942 and to Spokane in 1957. She was a member of Northtown Baptist Church and the Gold Star Mothers' Club. She was the widow of Elisha Van Stafford. Four sons and a daughter also died earlier. Survivors include two sons, Clifford Stafford of Otis Orchards and Elgin Stafford of Spokane; two daughters, Lorena Larson of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and Joan Rickaby of Tacoma; 10 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
