Michael Duane McPherson, the son of Arlan D. and Amy Mae (Whipple) McPherson, was born August 9, 1954, in Iowa City. He was raised and educated in Humboldt, graduating from Humboldt High School. He lived in Eagle Grove for 22 years. He enjoyed leather work - making checkbook covers, baseball caps, belts, purses, and roses of suede. He also liked to play cribbage. Michael did mechanical work on cars. He had a passion for Ford Mustangs.

Michael D. McPherson died Friday, April 27, 2007, at his home in Eagle Grove at the age of 52 years.

Survivors include his daughter, Shuri Paige, of Eagle Grove; two grandsons, Dominic and Dylan Hoyt of Des Moines; his mother, Amy Asche of Eagle Grove; a brother, Arlan McPherson and wife, Shannon, of Eagle Grove; two sisters, Laurie McPherson, of Eagle Grove, and Melanie Clay and husband, Rick, of Goldfield; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arlan; brother, Ricky McPherson; and a nephew, Lucias Clay.

Memorial Services were held Tuesday, May 1, at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with Pastor Paul Stone officiating. Burial was held in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Foust Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
