Keith Maxon dies at 55; rites Monday

Keith Maxon, 55, a former Webster City resident, died early this morning at Bethesda Hospital in Fort Dodge after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held Monday at the Kastler-Babcock funeral home in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Arthur W. Anderson officiating and with burial in the Rose Hill cemetery near Eagle Grove.

Keith Maxon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Maxon, was born in Webster City June 2, 1914, but had spent the majority of his life in Eagle Grove. He had been employed by the Propane Gas Co-op there for the past 15 years.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Keith Maxon of Webster City; Stephen Maxon, Ames; and Orville Maxon, now in the U.S. Air Force; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Clare of St. Paul, Robert of Northfield, Minn., and Lawrence of Chamberlin, S.D., and two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Wing of St. Paul and Mrs. David Lokensgard of St. Paul.

Keith Maxon funeral Monday

Keith Maxon, 55, died Friday morning at Bethesda General Hospital, Fort Dodge, where he had been a patient for a few hours. He had been ill for several months.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur W. Anderson of the First Baptist church officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Maxon is survived by his wife, three sons, Keith Maxon of Webster City, Steven Maxon of Ames and Orville now in the U.S. Air Force.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters, Clare of St. Paul, Minn.; Robert of Northfield, Minn.; David Lokensgard of St Paul, Minn., and a half-sister and half-brother, Arlene and Harold.

Mr. Maxon was born in Webster City, and was graduated from Eagle Grove High School. He was a long time employee of Propane Gas Co-operative, until illness forced him to retire.

Obituary

Everett Keith Maxon was born June 2, 1914, at Webster City, Iowa, the son of Albertus Hobert and Freda Loretta Bish Maxon. He attended the Eagle Grove schools and graduated from high school in Eagle Grove.

He was united in marriage on January 30. 1938, to Ruth Satterlee of Chamberlain, South Dakota at Eagle Grove The young couple then lived in Chamberlain for approximately 10 years, before returning to Eagle Grove to make their home.

Keith was employed by the Propane Gas Co-operative as a truck driver until illness forced him to stop working. He had been in ill health for a number of months, and was taken to the Bethesda General Hospital the night before his death on January 2, at the age of 55 years, and 7 months.

He is survived by his wife Ruth, and three sons, Keith Maxon, Webster City. Steven Maxon, Ames; and Orville Maxon of the United States Air Force.

Also, by three brothers and two sisters: Clare Maxon, St. Paul, Minn.; Robert Maxon, Northfield, Minn.; and Lawrence Maxon, Chamberlain, S. Dak.; and a half-brother, Harold, Thelma (Mrs. Floyd Wing) St Paul, Minn., and Shirley (Mrs. David Lokensgard) St. Paul, Minn., seven grandchildren also survive him and a half-sister, Arlene.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on January 5 at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, with the Rev. Arthur W. Anderson of the Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove.
