April 18, 1868 --- January 14, 1904

Mrs. Laura L. Parr

Died at the residence of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Leonard, of Woolstock, Thursday, at 10 o'clock Jan. 14, '04, Mrs. Laura Parr. The deceased had been a patient sufferer from cancer for the past six months. During her illness all was done for her relief and comfort that medical skill could suggest.

Mrs. Parr was born in Serena, Ill., April 18, 1869 [1868], where she was married to John Parr, Oct. 17, 1888, who, after a few months illness died March 3, 1891. Since the death of her husband, Mrs. Parr lived with her parents, who moved to Iowa, in February, 1892.

During her residence here, the deceased had gained many acquaintances. She was a lady highly respected and honored by all. She was always ready in time of need with a helping hand.

Mrs. Parr leaves a father, mother, three sisters and three brothers, who mourn her untimely taking away.

Mrs. Philaura Leonard Parr was born at Serena, Illinois, April 17 [18], 1868, and died at Woolstock, Iowa, January 14, 1904, from a lingering illness of about five months duration. She was married to John S. A. Parr October 17, 1888, at Serena, Illinois. Mrs. Parr has lived in Woolstock about two years. She leaves a father, mother, three brothers and three sisters to mourn her death. The sisters are: Mrs. Bert Maxson [Maxon] of Webster City, Mrs. John McMullan, residing in Indiana and Miss Daisy Leonard of Woolstock. The brothers are: Arthur, William and Frank.

The funeral will be held Saturday, January 16, at 1 o'clock, at the M. E. church in Woolstock, conducted by Rev. T. A. Harter of Webster City and interment made in Woolstock cemetery.
