ZELDA MARY MARTIN
Zelda Mary Jones was born August 5, 1905, in Liberty Township, Wright County, the daughter of Ernest and Pirl [Pearl] Hawkins Jones. She attended rural school, graduating from Goldfield High School and attended summer school at Cedar Falls where she obtained her teachers certificate. She taught school in a rural school for a time. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Zelda M. Martin died Tuesday, February 26, 1991 at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Merle; brother, Harold; sisters, Ferol Jones, and Beatrice Lester. She is survived by a daughter, Rose Mary Volkmer, Rockville, Md.; daughter-in-law, Pearl Martin Bradley, Fort Dodge; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willard Jones, Eagle Grove, and Jack Jones, Council Bluffs.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at the Renwick Baptist Church in Renwick. The Rev. Jeremy Spencer officiated and burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Renwick. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
