Funeral Services For William Lutz Monday

Funeral services for William Lutz, 72, who died Friday morning of heart trouble, were held at the Hastier Funeral Home at 4 p. m. Monday.

The Rev. Harrison G. Dawes, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated. Lutz was buried in Rose Hill cemetery.

Lutz died while working at the home of Kenneth Brauman Friday morning. He was found lying beside his truck by Brauman about 10 a. m. and was taken to the Kastler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lutz said that her husband had been ill for about a month and had had several heart attacks in the past.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude McCray Lutz of Eagle Grove, three children, Clifford W. of Princeton, Ill., Violet Meece of Bode, and Delbert C. of Lubbock, Tex. and three grandchildren, Ronald Meece, Dale and William Lutz.

Relatives attending the funeral were his surviving children, Mrs. Lutz's brother, Frank McCray of LaMoille, Ill. and a nephew, Louis Barrett of Ohio, Ill.

The Delbert Lutz family and Mrs. Meece will be staying with Mrs. Lutz for the remainder of the week.

OBITUARY

William R. Lutz was born April 25, 1878 near Anderson, Indiana to Peter and Katherine Lutz. He passed from this life March 23, 1951 at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 25 days.

William attended school near his home in Indiana. When he was a young man he moved to Illinois and later went to Oregon. In 1914 he returned east, settling in Iowa. On September 30, 1916 he was united in marriage to Miss Gertrude McCray of LaMoille, Illinois.

Four children blessed this union: Clifford William of Princeton, Ill., Violet Gertrude Meece of Bode, la., and Delbert Charles of Lubbock, Tex. Mr. Lutz was preceded in death by one son, Allan Merrill, who died at birth.

Mr. Lutz had made his home near Eagle Grove for the last 26 years. For the last 12 years he had been employed by the Wilson Company dealing in poultry and eggs.

Besides his family Mr. Lutz leaves to mourn his passing, three grandchildren, Ronald Dale Meece, Dale Allan Lutz and William Owen Lutz.
