Cora G. Duer Ley
6 December 1874 ---- 16 January 1948

Former Resident Dies In Houston
Mrs. Cora Duer Ley, 73, died at her home in Houston, Texas, Friday, Jan. 16th. Mrs. Ley, a former resident of Eagle Grove, was the sister of Mrs. Melvina Bawn and Chas. H. Duer of this city. The following account is from the Houston Journal.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Duer Ley, 73, who helped develop a number of the city's additions will be at 4 p.m. today at the King Funeral Home. Rev. Thomas Summers will officiate and burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Ley, who was the mother of Homer E. and Wendel D. Ley, directors of the University State Bank, helped develop Woodland Heights, Woodland Terrace and White Oak additions. She lived here 47 years. Survivors, besides her sons, include two
daughters, Mrs. Gladys Feland and Mrs. William J. Saiger, all of Houston; five sisters, Mrs. Caroline Melvina Bawn of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Miss Mae Duer and Mrs. Susan C. Nelson, both of Houston, Mrs. Flora Pelper of Cogswell, N. D., Mrs. Pearl Welmer of Hartley, Iowa, two brothers, Charles H. Duer of Eagle Grove, and Elmer Duer of Newton.
