William Roy “Bill” Oswood
27 September 1894 ---- 26 March 1961

W. R. Oswood Is Buried Here On Wednesday
Funeral services for W. R. Oswood, 76, were held Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the First Congregational church. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. The pastor of the church Dr. Thos. Hoover officiated. Mr. Oswood died Monday, March 26 following a prolonged illness. Mr. Oswood operated the DX station here for many years and of late had been serving as custodian of the First Congregational church of which he was a member and loyal worker. He is survived by his wife Ethel [Dutton], and one daughter Ruth Blankenship of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Also his mother Sarah and six brothers and five sisters. He also has two granddaughters.

W. R. Oswood, born Sept. 27, 1894 to Bert and Sarah Oswood at Williams, Iowa, passed away March 26, 1961. On Feb. 9, 1916 he was united in marriage to Ethel Dutton at Alden, Iowa, and a daughter Ruth was born to this union. He is survived by his wife Ethel, and one daughter Ruth Blankenship of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Also surviving are his mother Sarah of Alden, Iowa, and six brothers and five sisters, also two granddaughters Kay Whisler and Elaine Blankenship and many nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Congregational
church and a faithful worker.

Funeral services were held at the Congregational church on March 29 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Dr. Thos. Hoover. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
