HELEN (HARRIS) SUNNER
Helen Olga Sunner, the daughter of Ole H. and Hilda Norby Harris, was born Feb 24, 1904, at Soldier. She grew up and graduated from the Soldier High School and was a teacher for years. On Aug. 29, 1924 she was united in marriage with Carl N. Sunner at Soldier. After their marriage the family lived at Soldier until 1929, when they moved to a farm north of Eagle Grove, where they lived for years. In 1949, the family moved into Eagle Grove, where Mr. Sunner was in the insurance business, and also farmed. He died in Sept. of 1974. Mrs. Sunner continued to live in Eagle Grove, except for a couple of years when she lived in Clear Lake and in July of 1982, she became a resident of the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove.

She was a long-time member of the Samuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her life centered around her family, her friends, her church and the community. She died on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 19, 1984 at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, where she had been taken earlier in the day. She attained the age of 80 years, 6 months and 25 days.

She is survived by a daughter, Helen Chapman of Omaha, Neb.; four sons: Gordon Sunner of Clear Lake; Dr. Gerald Sunner of Milford; Dr. Kurt Sunner of Spirit Lake; Dr. Paul Sunner of Eagle Grove; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Olson of Onawa, and many other relatives and friends She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son, Harold Sunner, and a brother, Harry.

He died in September of 1974. She died on Wednesday afternoon, September 19, 1984, at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. She is survived by a daughter of Omaha, four sons; sixteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Ethel Olson of Onawa, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Harold Sunner and a brother, Harry.
