Eagle Grove woman dies

Mrs. Signe Satta, 79, Eagle Grove, died of a heart attack Saturday in Clarion Community Memorial Hospital shortly after the car in which she was riding was involved in an accident five miles East of Eagle Grove.

Mrs. Satta was taken to the hospital after the car driven by Hans Enoch Peterson, 84, slid into a ditch.

Peterson was taken to the Clarion hospital with a right leg fracture near the hip then transferred to Bethesda General Hospital, in Fort Dodge and is in satisfactory condition.

Obituary

Signe Satta, daughter of Bjorn and Berntine Salhus Kvale, was born in Haugesund, Norway on April 20, 1893 and attended the schools there. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Norway.

She came to the United States in 1909 at the age of sixteen and settled in the Holmes area, and later made her home in Des Moines where she was employed.

On September 15, 1922, she was united in marriage to Simon O. Satta, in Des Moines, and made their home there until 1948, when they moved to LaJolla, California. Mr. Satta preceded her in death in March of 1958. In 1966 she came to Eagle Grove to make her home and to be near her relatives.

She was a member of the Central Lutheran Church in Des Moines.

On Saturday, January 29, she entered the Clarion Memorial Hospital and passed away a short time after being admitted. She was 78 years, 9 months and 9 days of age at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and five brothers.

She is survived by her two sisters: Mrs. Gunhild Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Sigrum Hussebo of Norway.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Grove with Rev. W. E. Carlson officiating. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. with interment in the Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines.

Mrs. Signe Satta Funeral Wednesday

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Signe Satta, 78, Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Wilson Funeral Home. Rev. W. E. Carlson of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church officiated.

Burial was at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines with the pastor of the Central Lutheran Church, Des Moines in charge of the graveside service.

Mrs. Satta died Saturday afternoon in the Clarion Memorial Hospital from a heart attack following an automobile accident.

Mrs. Satta is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Gunhild Johnson, Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Sigrum Hussebo in Norway.

She was born in Haugesund, Norway, April 20,1893, and was educated in the schools there. After she came to the United States she was united in marriage to Simon O. Satta on Sept. 15, 1922, in Des Moines, la. They lived there and LaJolla, Calif, for a number of years and five years ago she moved to Eagle Grove.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bjorn Kvale, five brothers and her husband.

Mr. and Mrs. Gudmund Aukland and Olin attended funeral services for Mrs. Signe Satta, an aunt of Mrs. Aukland, at Eagle Grove Wednesday morning.
