The funeral of Andrew Anderson was held at Holmes last Sunday, the sermon being by Rev. Okdale. Deceased was 87 years of age. He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Jacob Peterson.

[Andreas Anderson Qvale [Kvale in America] was born on February 15, 1829 at Haugesund, Rogaland, Norway; He died May 4, 1916 in Lake Township, Wright County, Iowa and was buried in Holmes Lutheran Cemetery in Holmes, Iowa; the birth and death dates are from the Haugesund parish records and the Holmes [Iowa] Lutheran church records. He was married to Guri Bjornsdatter in Haugesund and had children. His daughter in Holmes was Gurine Serene Andersdatter Kvale Peterson; other children were Knut Johannes Anderson of Madison, Minn., Bjorn Andreas Kvale of Haugesund, Norway; Anna Olena Andersdatter Slanger of Chicago; and Berthe Marie Andersdatter and Kari Olena Andersdatter of Haugesund, Norway; Andrew Anderson Kvale arrived in New York from Norway on February 14, 1900;]
