Izola Alice Smith

OTTUMWA – Izola Alice Smith, 78, formerly of 2629 Marilyn Rd., died at 6:30 p.m. Monday (July 5, 1999) at the Ottumwa Manor.

Prayer services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon, with the Rev. David Albert officiating. Open visitation will begin following prayer services until 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Kremer Funeral Home.

Further graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the LuVerne Cemetery in LuVerne.

She was born on Oct. 13, 1920, near Thompson to Leroy and Alsena Walkner Smith. She married Milo I. Smith on April 7, 1944, in Blue Earth, Minn. He died on June 9, 1976.

She was a homemaker and traveled with her husband who was a construction worker. She moved to Ottumwa in 1986.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Streeby, of Eldon; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren; and one sister, Sylvia Boelman, of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and twin sisters.

[Transcriber’s Note: Milo and Izola Smith lived at 302 South Washington, Eagle Grove, Iowa. Milo worked with the Giese Construction Co. of Eagle Grove in road construction. He became disabled at work and had not worked since October, 1975. He died at his home following a lengthy illness on June 9, 1976.]

LIVERMORE—Milo Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Zeke Smith, was united in marriage to Izola Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Smith of near Corwith, on Monday April 7, at Blue Earth. Minn. Rosemary Smith, sister of the groom, and Clarence Smith, brother of the groom, were bridesmaid and bestman. The bride was attired, in a grey suit with white accessories and the groom and bestman wore dark blue suits. The newly married couple will make their home in Algona where the groom is employed.
