DEATH AND FUNERAL OF SAM LANGLAND
Sam Langland was found dead in Hathaway's billiard hall late Thursday night. The back door was left unlocked and Langland was seen staggering around the entrance. Parties in the building went to his assistance and supposing he was sick, laid him out to rest up a little. It was afterwards found that he had died. A coroner's jury was called and their verdict was that death was caused from an overdose of alcohol. The funeral was held Monday afternoon.

Sam Langland was born in Suld, [Skjold] Norway, November 24, 1892. The family came to Thor in 1893 and to Eagle Grove in 1905. He leaves a mother, three sisters and six brothers. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Samuel Lutheran church. The interment was beside his father in Rose Hill cemetery. His father died in 1906.
