Daniel E. Johnson was born on December 7, 1968 at Fort Dodge, Iowa, to David E. Johnson and Gloria (Fischer) Johnson Kisor. He was raised in Woolstock and attended Clarion Schools and graduated with the class of 1987. He served in the Iowa National Guard where he trained in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He received an Honorable Discharge from the National Guard. On March 18, 1989, he was united in marriage to DeAnne K. Nichols at the Little Brown Church. He worked for Equimco Inc. for 6 years, Lalor Construction, and Allen Osborne Construction in Galt.

Daniel E. Johnson, 27, died Saturday, July 20, 1996, at the junction of 300th Street and Keokuk Avenue from injuries resulting from a car accident.

Survivors include his two daughters, Amber, age 6, and Alicia, age 5; his mother, Mrs. Ken (Gloria) Kisor, Woolstock; two sisters, Teresa Trusty, Goldfield, and Tina Eittreim, Clarion. He was preceded in death by his father, David E. Johnson and his grandparents.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday. July 23, 1996 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverend Wayne Droessler and the Reverend Carlton Shaw officiating. Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery near Woolstock, Iowa. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
