MRS. E. LONG DIED LAST SATURDAY

Passes Away at Her Farm Home East of Eagle Grove After an Illness Lasting Several Weeks.

Mrs. Elmer Long, 55, died at her home east of Eagle Grove Saturday, Feb. 24th. Mrs. Long had been seriously ill for several weeks and her passing was not unexpected. She was born in the state of Florida, June 24, 1884. While still a child she moved with her parents to Naperville, Illinois, where she grew to womanhood. On Jan. 20, 1903, she was united in marriage with Elmer Long. They made their home for three years in Illinois after their marriage, moving to Wright county in 1906, settling on a farm in the Head Grove neighborhood. They have lived in the vicinity of Eagle Grove for 32 years.

Surviving to mourn their loss are the husband, and one son, Russell Long of Clarion. One daughter, Gladys, passed away in September, 1935. Also surviving are four grandchildren, her father who lives in Aurora, Illinois, and other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Methodist church with the Rev. J. R. Tumbleson in charge. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Thomason, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Thomason, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Thomason, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilkin, Mr. and Mrs. Morse Nielsen, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kirstein, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Fatland, Mr. and Mrs. Gene McCormick and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Solheim attended the funeral of Mrs. Elmer Long Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Long lived in Head Grove several years ago.
