Mrs. Langeland Died Sunday

Mrs. Thea Langeland died Sunday morning at Cherokee where she has been a patient for the past 27 years. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Kubitschek & Kastler Funeral Home in charge of Rev. T. J. Severtson. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Andrew Langeland

Thea Marie Romseland was born March 17, 1865, at Skjold, Norway, and died at the hospital at Cherokee, Iowa, Sunday morning, June 8, 1941, aged 76 years, 2 months and 22 days. She was baptized unto Christ, received instruction and confessed her Christian faith in her youth. In 1885, she was united in marriage to Andrew Langeland, and in 1892 the family came to the United States and to Thor, Iowa, and later moved to Eagle Grove. Mr. Langeland died at Eagle Grove, August 8, 1906. Also three sons, Sam, Andrew and Osmund, and one daughter, Thea [Theo] Marie, (Mrs. Alfred Madsen [Madson]), have passed away before the mother. Four sons, Tom, Theodore, Jake and Martin, and two daughters, Martha and Madeline (Mrs. Lynn Thompson, Clarion), remain. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Peter Wesire.

Mrs. Langeland had been in poor health for a number of years, and has therefore been at the hospital. So most of those who knew her here and her friends have also passed on. Life is such. Time and the world goes on and we with it. We pass on and are soon forgotten, God alone does not forget us. She died rather suddenly Sunday morning.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Kubitschek and Kastler Funeral Home at Eagle Grove. Burial was made in the lot at Rose Hill cemetery.
