November 25, 1893 --- April 29, 1962

Mrs. Charles Long, 68, died Sunday at the Clarion hospital where she had been a patient for a few days. She had been in failing health for some years, and hospitalized for surgery some time ago.

Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. Lyle Lieder officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Long is survived by her husband, one daughter and one son, Mrs. Harry Midland and Wallace Long, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters, Axel and Clarence Hansen of Minneapolis; Mrs. Julia Jorgensen of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Tom Stryker and Mrs. Holger Christensen of this city.

She was preceded in death by a son, Leslie, who died a few years ago.

Nellie Fredricka Hansen, born to Hans C. and Caroline Hansen on November 25, 1893 in Troy township, Wright county, Eagle Grove, Iowa.

She departed this life at 7:30 p. m. on April 29, 1962 at the age of 68 years, 5 months, 4 days, at the Clarion Memorial hospital, Clarion, Iowa, after a lingering illness.

On December 11, 1912 she was united in marriage to Chas. M. Long, living on a farm until 1920 when they moved to town, in Eagle Grove. To this union three children were born.

Nellie was a member of the Methodist church and was very active in the WSCS when her health permitted. She was a kind and loving mother and will be missed by many.

Those who mourn her passing include her husband and daughter Irene, Mrs. Harry Midland, and son Wallace H., all of Eagle Grove. Six grandchildren, Dale Midland, Maryville, Mo., Marvin Midland, Webster City; Michael and Steven Long, Eagle Grove; William and Robert Long, Burlington, Iowa. Two great grandchildren, Mark David Midland and Richard Dean Midland.

Also by two brothers Axel C. Hansen and Clarence Hansen, both of Minneapolis, Minn, and three sisters, Gertie, Mrs. John Jorgensen of Tucson, Ariz., Adel, Mrs. Tom Stryker and Nora, Mrs. Holger Christensen, both of Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Preceeding her in death was one son, Leslie James, who passed away March 4, 1960 at Shawnee, Okla., and her parents and two brothers, Chris and Edmund Hansen, and three sisters, her twin Nancy, Mrs. Floyd Brauman; Hannah, Mrs. Ole Sorensen; Agnes, Mrs. George Nelson.
