BETTY ANN JERGENSON
Betty Ann Christensen was born October 29, 1928 at Eagle Grove, the daughter of Holger and Nora Hansen Christensen. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1946, and attended Iowa State College, Ames. She was united in marriage to Wesley J. Jergenson of Eagle Grove, on August 28, 1949, at the East Side Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. They have farmed northeast of Eagle Grove since that time. She was employed by the Security Savings Bank for a number of years, and had retired from this a few years ago.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove; Rebecca Circle; Beta Sigma Phi; Bridge Club; and she taught Sunday School.

Betty Jergenson died at her home on Monday morning, September 3, 1990, at the age of 61 years, 10 months, and four days. She was preceded in death by her father; and a brother, Lt. Harold Christensen, who was killed in World War II. She is survived by her husband; one son, Dr. Douglas Jergenson, Clinton; a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Jodi) Burgess, Anniston, Ala.; her mother, Nora Christensen, Eagle Grove; two brothers, W. L. (Stub) Christensen; and Donald, both of Eagle Grove; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 6 at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove, with the Rev. Scott C. Hall officiating at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. The Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
