CLINTON, Iowa. Services for Ralph H. Ashpole, 77, Clinton, will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Pate Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Masonic Rose Croix services will be held in conjunction with the funeral.

Mr. Ashpole died Friday at Mercy Hospital.

He was born in Hampshire Township, Iowa. He married Bernice M. Fisher in 1926 at Clarion.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Dolores) H. Spangler, Eagle Grove; sons, Hobart, Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Lyle, Chicago; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and a brother, Russell, Chadwick, Ill.

Mrs. Edwin Spangler's father dies in Clinton

Ralph Harold Ashpole, 77, died Friday at Mercy Hospital at Clinton.

Funeral service will be Monday at 1:30 pm. at Papes Funeral Home, Clinton, with Rev. Leslie Pritchard officiating. Burial will be at Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery.

He is survived by two sons: Hobart M. of Glenn Ellyn, Ill. and Lyle T. of Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. Edwin Spangler of Eagle Grove; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one brother, Russell. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, six brothers and five sisters.

Mr. Ashpole was born May 5, 1900 to Mr. and Mrs. [Henry] Francis Ashpole, Clinton. He was married to Bernice M. Fischer [Fisher] of Eagle Grove May 15, 1926 in Clarion. He retired as conductor for the C. and N.W. R.R. Nov. 8, 1966 after 48 years of service. He was a member of various branches of the Masonic Lodge, and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
