Adolf Edwards, 97, died at the Clarion Care Center on Wednesday morning, May 11, 1983. Funeral services were held at Hauge Lutheran Church in Goldfield on Friday, May 13 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Gaylord Jacobson officiated and burial was in the Holmes cemetery. The Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Adolf was born on May 13, 1885 at Stavanger, Norway and was the son of Aadne Refheim and Bertha Willetson Rafheim. At the age of 15 he came to the United States and the Leland, Ill. area. After a few years he returned to Norway for a time and then came to Canada where he homesteaded and helped build the railroad across Canada.
On November 28, 1914 he was married to Marie Skadburg at Eagle Grove where they farmed. In 1932 they moved to a farm near Goldfield and lived there until retiring to Clarion in 1957. She died in 1967. He had been a resident of the Clarion Care Center for the past four years.
Surviving are two children - Mrs. Margaret Jorgenson of Clarion and Alvin of Goldfield; six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, his wife, a daughter, Nora, and a son, Clarence. Mr. Edwards was a member of the Hauge Lutheran Church.
