Kenneth D. Wilcox was born November 14, 1911, to Nate and Mary Harter Wilcox at Wright County, Iowa. He attended Country Schools near Woolstock and Woolstock High School. On December 15, 1934, he was united in marriage to Ada H. Mourlam at Clarion. They lived in Troy Township, Wall Lake Township, and moved to Eagle Grove in April of 1947 where they lived together for 50 years. He also worked for Maplewood Dairy in Eagle Grove and Eagle Ready Mix.

Kenneth D. Wilcox died Saturday, September 13, 1997, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion at the age of 85. Survivors include a brother, Richard Wilcox of Colfax, Iowa; a sister, Marcella Bauman of Story City; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-laws, Lela Wilson, Vera Claude, and Marie Anderson, all of Eagle Grove; brother-in-laws, George Mourlam of Eagle Grove, and Clifford Mourlam of Clear Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ada, on June 4, 1997; a daughter, Kay Wilcox on January 20, 1990; a brother, Harold Wilcox; and a sister, Clara Wade.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (today), September 17, 1997, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverend William E. Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
