A. L. Mc Donald died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. E. Floyd, Monday, July 23, 1934. If he had lived until August 13th he would have been 88 years old. For the past year he has been to failing health and for the past two weeks his death was expected hourly.
Abner Levi McDonald was born to Elisabeth and Isaac McDonald at Fennimore. Wis., Aug. 13, 1846. He was married to Addie S. Liscum on Sept. 6, 1872. To this union eight children were born, two are deceased, William and Lottie. Those left are: Mrs. W. E. Floyd, Eagle Grove; Miss Myrtle McDonald and Mrs. Harry Anderson, Ames, Mrs, H. J. Fulton, Rapid City; John of Fellows, Calif.; Chas. of Clinton. Also 11 grandchildren and a niece, Mrs. L. P. Claude of Woolstock.
Mrs. McDonald died, Feb. 21, 1924. Mr. McDonald came to Iowa in 1876, locating near Woolstock. In 1886 he moved to Eagle Grove where he has since resided.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Wilson Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. J. G. Eaton in charge. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
