September 7, 1877 --- July 18, 1930

Mrs. Frank McDaniels
(By Rev. W. G. Muhleman)

Lillian Mae Williams was born at Union Grove, Wis., on Sept. 7, 1877. When she was three years old she moved with her parent to Eagle Grove, Ia., and settled on a farm southwest of town. Later on they moved into town where her father went into business. She remained here until she was 11 years of age when her mother and brothers and sisters all died within a week of diphtheria. Her next move was to go and live with her grandmother on the farm one mile southeast of the Watson school house. At the death of her grandmother, she remained on the farm where she kept house for her uncle, David Williams.

On December 22, 1897 she was united in marriage to Frank McDaniels. Four children were born to this union, two of whom are dead. The two remaining are Mrs. J. C. Hoff of Kansas City, Mo., and Benjamin F., who lives at home and helps run the farm.

In 1927 they moved back to the farm where she lived as a little girl which is known as the David Williams farm or the Spring Valley farm, which Mr. McDaniels bought in 1914 where they have since lived and ran a stock farm and raised much grain. It was here where she died after a lingering illness of about a year. She passed away on July 18, 1930. at the age of 52 years 10 months and 11 days.

Mrs. McDaniels is the last of her family and the last of this line of Williams. She was a wonderful mother. She did not go much but made her home her first obligation. She loved all that was good and hated all that was bad. She made a great fight for life and even a day before she passed away she would not give up to die. She and her husband were making plans to continue their work on the farm in a larger and better way, but death called and would not be refused so she was compelled to lay aside the mortal and take on the immortal.

Mrs. McDaniels was a member of the Royal Neighbors for years. She was baptized in the Baptist church when quite young. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband and the two children already mentioned and several cousins.

Funeral services were held on the farm on Sunday afternoon. The funeral services were in charge of Rev. W. G. Muhleman pastor of the Methodist church in Eagle Grove. Her body was taken to Woolstock for burial where her two childrens' bodies lie.
