Agnes Emmaline Johnson was born December 1, 1913, the daughter of Jens and Emma Eittreim Johnson at Eagle Grove. She received her education in the Eagle Grove school system, and graduated from the Eagle Grove High School in 1931.

She was united in marriage to Ben F. McDaniels of Woolstock in 1936. The couple lived for two years on a farm near Woolstock before moving to Des Moines in 1938. In 1949, the couple relocated to Eagle Grove where Mrs. McDaniels has lived since that time.

She was employed by the Grahams Department Store for a time, before becoming a sales clerk for the Kenefick Pharmacy in Eagle Grove. She worked for the Kenefick family until her retirement in 1976.

She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove.

Agnes McDaniels died March 14, 1991, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion at the age of 77 years, three months, and 13 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Leonard Johnson, and one sister, Bertha Johnson.

She is survived by one son, Ben, Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Fran (Joan) Larick, Eagle Grove; and Mrs. Jerry (Janice) Chapman, Minneapolis, Minn.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 18 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Lyle Peters officiating at the 2 p.m. services. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.

The Kastler-Babcock Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
