Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon Feb. 2 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church for Eugene H. McCormick who died Saturday at the Rotary Ann home. McCormick, 86, was a retired farmer. Burial was made in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. The Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.

Eugene Harold McCormick was born at Buffalo in Sangamon County, Ill., on December 15, 1895, the son of John Y. and Laura Murphy McCormick. His parents moved to Iowa in January 1896, when Gene was just six weeks old. They settled southeast of Eagle Grove on a farm in Troy Township. Eugene attended the rural schools and grew to manhood in the Eagle Grove area. On March 6, 1919 he was united in marriage with Clara Roseland at Fort Dodge. To this union were born three children, Roger, Phyllis and Lois. The family lived and farmed in Troy Township for many years. Later, Gene moved to a farm near Renwick and then to Fort Dodge. He had been a resident of the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove for the past seven years. He died at the Rotary Ann Home early Saturday morning, January 30, 1982 having attained the age of 86 years, one month and 15 days.

He is survived by one son, Roger McCormick of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Phyllis, Mrs. Allen Strain and Lois, Mrs. Merle Gearhart, both of Eagle Grove; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mrs. Grace Watkins and four brothers, Alfred, John, Elmer and Fred, and a step-son, Arnold.

Funeral services for Eugene H. McCormick were held on Tuesday, February 2, 1982 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Don Callen, church pastor officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home on Monday.
