Bert McCarty, living north of town, passed away on Thursday evening after suffering with heart trouble for some time. His death was quite a shock to his people as he seemed to be improving, but instead suddenly died without warning. The funeral was held at the old Thomas Cowan home and interment was in the cemetery at Eagle Grove. He leaves a wife and one child besides other relatives to mourn his passing.
