Funeral Wednesday for J. B. McGonegle
James B. McGonegle, 45, Vincent farmer, died suddenly Monday morning after a coronary attack. Services were Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Duncombe. Burial was in the parish cemetery. The Third Degree Knights of Columbus 613 and the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Smythe Assembly rosary and a parish rosary were said at 8 p.m. Tuesday.Surviving are his widow, Bonnie; five sons and a daughter, Michael, a student at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls; Dennis, Jack, Terry, Pat, and Kathleen, all at home; a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Vernon Jepsen, Delmar; Joseph McGonegle, Lost Nation, and Eugene, Fort Dodge.
James McGonegle was born at Delmar and as a young man came to the Vincent community to make his home with an aunt. He attended the schools of the area and later graduated from Fort Dodge High School. He entered the occupation of farming. He married Bonnie Lampe at Palmer and they established their home on a farm near Vincent. He was also a licensed broker with Conway Brothers Brokerage House, Clarion. He was a member of the NFO and held a number of offices in that organization. He was a member of the finance committee of St. John's parish of Vincent and St. Joseph's at Duncombe.
