8 April 1852 ---- 11 February 1918

The death of Peter Folkedal occurred at his home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, February 11, 1918. Peter Folkedal was born April 8, 1852, in Hardanger, Norway. He was the oldest of two brothers and four sisters. He was married to Miss Guri Amundson Voog, of Haugesund, and came to the United States in 1879. The family lived for a number of years near Ellsworth, Iowa. About twenty-three years ago, they settled on a farm near Eagle Grove where they lived until Mrs. Folkedal died October 18, 1910 leaving eight children to mourn the loss of a good Christian mother —Laura, Mrs. Lister, Eagle Grove; Ole of Seattle, Wash.; Christ of Clarion, Herman and Will of Eagle Grove, Sam of Goldfield, Joseph of Camp Cody Deming, N. Mex., and Amos, also of Eagle Grove.

In 1911 Mr. Folkedahl and the children moved from the farm into Eagle Grove and on January 27, 1912, he was again joined in marriage this time to Miss Anna Gunderson Flatebo who with his eight children and three grandchildren mourn his sudden death.

He was laid to rest Friday afternoon, February 15th. Joseph of Camp Cody was present, Ole of Seattle was hindered in coming.
