Miss Leila French, 87, a resident of Fond du Lac Lutheran Home Inc., died there Thursday, Dec. 1, 1983.

She was born June 1, 1896, at Goldfield, Iowa, to the late Jonathan and Sarah E. French.

A memorial services will be held at Fond du Lac Lutheran Home Inc. Following cremation, burial will take place in Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Candlish Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Leila French, the daughter of William and Sarah Henry French, was born in Illinois on June 1, 1896. Later, she moved with her parents to Iowa and the family settled in the Goldfield area and were some of the early Wright County settlers. During her childhood, she lived in Iowa and Michigan. She was never married. For the past 31 years, she had been a resident of the Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, where she died on Thursday, Dec. 1, 1983, at the age of 87 years and six months. She is survived by several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Elsie and Mary Ellen.

Graveside services for the cremains of Miss Leila French, age 87, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and formerly of Goldfield, were held on Friday, Dec. 9, 1983 at 3 p.m. at the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Rev. Walter Morz of the Goldfield Presbyterian Church officiated and the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
