March 5, 1900 --- June 27, 1972

Raymond French, son of Oliver and Caroline Owen French, was born March 5, 1900 near Newton, Illinois and received his education in the country schools near there. On May 5, 1931 he was united in marriage to Lola May Hanson in Clarion, Iowa and to this union one son and one daughter were born. They made their home in Garner, several years before moving to Eagle Grove in 1950. He had been employed as a carpenter in the Eagle Grove area until his retirement. Mr. French had suffered a lingering illness and passed away Tuesday morning, June 27, in the Clarion Memorial Hospital. He was 72 years, 3 months and 22 days of age at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters and 6 brothers. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Lola; daughter, Mrs. Ed Asche; and one son T. Sgt. Lawrence French of Luke Air Force Base, Phoenix, Arizona; 6 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, Friday, June 30, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. W. E. Carlson officiating. Interment was held in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Dodge.
