Frank A. Pringle was born in Hamilton county, Dec. 26, 1872, and died at his home at 609 Bank street, Jan. 6, 1932 [1933]. His Illness, due to a recently developed weakness of the heart, was very brief, and his death came as a great shock to his family and his many friends.
Mr. Pringle had lived most of his life in this community or nearby, he having grown up as a boy on a Hamilton county farm. Some of his years were lived in Webster City, where he had resided the last six years preceding his death. He lived in Eagle Grove18 years and a year and a half at Laurens.
April 8, 1900, Mr. Pringle was united in marriage to Miss Eleanor France, who survives. Three children were born to them and live to share the mother’s sorrow. A daughter, Mrs. O. S. Mellgren of Eagle Grove, a son, Carlisle and a daughter, Bonnie, both of Webster City and at home. Several years ago Mr. Pringle united with the Baptist church at Eagle Grove, all of his family uniting with him in active service in the church. For a number of years he was the choir leader as well as being active in other ways. Comfort has been brought to many hearts in this community as he, with his brothers in the Pringle quartette, have freely sung that beautiful and helpful service.
Mr. Pringle was a man of toll, spending most of his working life as a painter. Perhaps it was because they were his at the price of so much sacrifice that the home and its comforts meant so much to him. He loved and lived for his home and the loved ones there. His spirit was a spirit of kindness and of patience. No father was ever a greater pal to his children. His greatest joy was in the happiness afforded those who make up the loved home circle.
He will be mourned throughout the larger Pringle family of which he was a part. His mother, Mrs. R. [Ruth] Pringle, survives him. Besides these there are the following brothers and sisters: Thomas, of Webster City, Edgar, Andrew and Lloyd of Webster City, Mrs. James Passwater of Williams, Mrs. M. M. Segar and Mrs. Ed Garth of Webster City. Besides these a host of neighbors and intimate friends will mourn is untimely death.
