Edwin C. Olson Dies At Belmond; Rites Wednesday

Edwin C. Olson, well-known in this community, passed away at his home in Belmond, Iowa, Sunday night, Sep. 19th. Mr. Olson was a cancer victim. Edwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Olson, was born near Ellendale, [Minnesota]. He was united in marriage to Eva Pitchner, [Pichner] of Owatonna, on April 15, 1945. Mr. Olson was a baker by trade and resided at Belmond for the past nine years.

Surviving are his wife, Eva; two children, Edwin Jr., 6, and Barbara Ann, 4; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Olson, Ellendale; two brothers, Jim and Anton, both of Ellendale; and three sisters, Mary Ann of Owatonna, Mrs. Merlyn (Erlys) Cole of Northwood, Iowa, and Mrs. Rex (Irene) Medcalf of Baumheulder, Germany.

Last rites were held on Wednesday of this week at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Belmond, Iowa. Services were also held at the National Bohemian Cemetery, Owatonna, [Minnesota] at 4:30 p.m.
