Marvin Emery Foss was born near Chicago, Ill., Dec. 14, 1864, and died at his home on Sept. 9, 1929, having reached the age ot 64 years, nine months and 25 days.

Mr. Foss moved to Iowa, and with folks, settled near LaPorte City, Iowa. Here he grew to manhood and became interested in the study of the veterinarian profession, which he followed for a number of years.

On Nov. 29, 1898 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Hattie Humphreys of Clarion and they settled on her farm near Lincoln Center, where they resided for some years. From there they moved to Campbell, Minn., where they farmed for five years and from there they moved to Eagle Grove. Here they have lived since that time and for the past 17 years they have lived in their present home on 3rd St. N. where Mr. Foss passed away. For about the same period of years Mr. Foss has been dealing in junk.

There remains to mourn his going, Mrs. Foss and three stepsons, John Humphreys of Cleveland, William of Waterloo, and Tom of Eagle Grove, besides one half brother of LaPorte City.

Services were conducted by W. E. Warnes at the Baptist church and interment was made at Rose Hill cemetery, Wednesday afternoon.
