Kenneth Severson, 76, of Mesa, Arizona and formerly of Spencer died Friday September 4th in Sioux City. Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Congregational Church in Spencer with the Reverend Christopher Richards officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. The Baumgartner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.

The son of Otis and Selma (Lonning) Severson, Mr. Severson was born December 31st 1915 at Thor, Iowa. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School. He married Beulah Tudor at Woolstock in 1936. They farmed in Webster County. Mrs. Severson died in 1940. He married Darlene Edmondson at Iowa Falls on December 20th 1958. They made their home in Iowa Falls until moving to Spencer in 1962. Mr. Severson was co-owner of Midstates Builders in Spencer until his retirement in 1980. In 1980 he and his wife moved to Mesa, Arizona maintaining a summer home at Lost Island Lake and Roofing. While in Spencer he was a member of the First Congregational Church.

Mr. Severson was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and two brothers. He is survived by his wife Darlene, his children Karen and Patrick O'Brien of Prescott, Arizona; Kenneth and Becky Severson of Grimes; Sherry and Gary McNichols of Waukee; Patti and David Morgan of Tacoma, Washington; Pam and Robert Shippy of Montrose, Colorado; Tim Edmonson of Spencer and Lori Severson of Phoenix, Arizona.
