Services for Hannah Furgeson, 86, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Glende-Johnson-Nelson Funeral Home, with Rev. James McGowan officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. She died Saturday, Nov. 28, at St. Mary's Nursing Center, Detroit Lakes.

One of 10 children, she was born Aug. 31, 1895, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Sivert and Sena Anderson. As a young woman, she moved to Marshall, where in September 1914 she married Martin Furgeson. They farmed until his death on April 14, 1928. She next moved to Minneota, where she worked at the newspaper. On July 18, 1929, she married Orvin Furgeson at Fergus Falls. The couple farmed in Otter Tail County, first near Battle Lake for three years, at Wall Lake for five years, and finally at Underwood for more than 20 years. Her husband died on Nov. 4, 1960. She later moved to Detroit Lakes.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Peter (Joyce) Loberg of Detroit Lakes; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. this afternoon, continuing tomorrow until the time of services at the funeral home.
