He moved about for a while, making his home in Webster City, Waterloo, Iowa Falls and at the age of 17 years he came to Eagle Grove where he has since made his home. He first begun work on the farm at Head Grove, then he contracted for tile and sewerage. For the past 17 years he has drilled wells.
On Sept. 3, 1913, he was united in marriage to Blanche B. Tunison of Eagle Grove. The ceremony was performed in the Methodist parsonage of Clarion by Rev. C. H. VanMeter. One child was born to this union, George Ernest Jr.

Mr. Scott was a hard working, industrious man. It was one of his great ambitions to continue working and make the living for the family. He made a remarkable recovery from a very severe illness over a year ago when he was operated on after which he drilled several wells.
