Mrs. J. M. Barstow received a telegram advising her of the death of her son, James M. Barstow, Jr. at Eagle Grove, IA. His brother, Frank, left at once to bring the body back to Council Bluffs for burial.

Funeral services for James M. Barstow, whose death occurred suddenly at Eagle Grove, Iowa on Wednesday, will be at the home of his mother, Mrs. J. M. Barstow, 908 Second Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

James M. Barstow, Jr. was born at the old homestead on south sixth street May 30, 1891. He attended local schools and later professional training through extension courses of universities of Wisconsin and Chicago. In 1917, he was employed by the Northwestern Railroad. His remarkable ability in mathematics enabled him to advance and he was placed in charge of an engineering corps. His headquarters later moved to Eagle Grove. He is survived by his mother and two brothers, Richard and Robert.

JAS. M. BARSTOW DIES SUDDENLY
James M. Barstow, a civil engineer employed by the C. & N. W, in Mr. Main's office, died Thursday morning at seven o'clock at the Emergency Ward. Mr. Barstow had not been feeling well the day before his death, and left his room at the Jas. Sterling home, and went to the hospital. A brother, R. S. Barstow of Council Bluffs, came Friday and accompanied the remains to Council Bluffs where burial was made.
