December 25, 1901 --- October 8, 1974

Mrs. Herschel Flumerfelt, 73, died Tuesday night at Trinity East Hospital, Fort Dodge. She had been hospitalized for two weeks, but has been ill for many years. Funeral services are tentatively set for Friday afternoon in the United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Flumerfelt, the former Evelyn Sharp, is survived by her husband, one son and one daughter, Don of Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Dorothy Loper of Belle view [Bellevue], Neb.

Other survivors are three sisters: Mrs. Clint Horlacher of Storm Lake, Mrs. Lois Stone [Sloan] of Sioux City, Mrs. E. A. Dudine [Budine] of Kansas City, Mo. and two brothers: Elwyn Sharp of Boone and Floyd Sharp of Minneapolis, Minn.

Evelyn Lavina Sharp was born in Shelby County, Ia. on December 25, 1901, the daughter of George and Alice Kelley Sharp.

Her family moved to Eagle Grove, and she attended the Eagle Grove Schools, and Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls, Ia.

She taught school for a time at Troy Center, Woolstock and Fenton, Ia.

She was united in marriage to Herschel Flumerfelt of Chicago, Ill., on December 27, 1927, at Council Bluffs. The couple made their home in Chicago for 11 years, before coming to the Eagle Grove area to engage in farming.

Mrs. Flumerfelt died at Trinity East Hospital, Ft. Dodge, on Tuesday, October 8, after a lengthy illness, at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 13 days.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Donald Flumerfelt, Eagle Grove; one daughter, Dorothy, Mrs. Donald Loper, Bellevue, Neb.; two brothers: George E. Sharp, Boone and Floyd R. Sharp, Minneapolis, Minn.; three sisters: (Mildred) Mrs. J. C. Horlacher, Storm Lake; (Doris) Mrs. A. E. Budine, Kansas City, Mo.; Lois Sloan, Sioux City and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Church Circle and Rebekahs.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church. Rev. Donald Glazier and Rev. Donald Forbes of Ames officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
