William Albert Evans
3 December 1872 --- 2 August 1948William Albert Evans, the eldest son of Thomas and Leviah Evans, was born on December 3, 1872 in Kenosha County, Wisconsin and passed from this life August 2, 1948, at Litchfield, Minnesota.
Mr. Evans recently went to live with his daughter at Dassel, Minnesota, while there he was taken ill, and about ten days ago was confined to the hospital at Litchfield, it was while here that the end came.
Mr. Evans spent his childhood near the place of his birth in Wisconsin. When he was nine years of age, he moved with his parents to Wright County, Iowa.
On February 20, 1897 William Evans was united in marriage to Josie Kepler. They made their home on a farm in Hamilton County the first three years of their married life, afterwards moving to Wright county where they built and maintained their home. In 1946 they left the farm and moved to their home in Eagle Grove. In February of 1947 Mr. and Mrs. Evans were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with their family and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Evans were the parents of three daughters: Mrs. Tressie Goranson of Clarksville, Delaware; Mrs. Doris Kelly of Dassel, Minnesota and Mrs. Vera Hanson, now deceased.
Mr. Evans was a member of the First Methodist Church at Eagle Grove, where for a time he served on the Official Board.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Vera Hanson, and by his wife, Mrs. Josie Evans who passed away August 10, 1947. Mr. Evans leaves to mourn his passing his daughters: Mrs. Tressie Goranson and Mrs. Doris Kelly. Three grandchildren: Evan Duerst Hanson of Sioux Falls, S. D.; Jaris Lynn Kelly and Mary Jo Kelly of Dassel, Minn., four sisters and three brothers as well as a host of friends.
