November 8, 1884 --- March 4, 1974

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen King, 89, will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at two o'clock at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home. The Rev. P. L. Mork, interim pastor of the Samuel Lutheran Church officiated.

Burial will be in the Holmes Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. King died Monday at the Rotary Ann Home following an illness of several weeks. She formerly lived in Iowa Falls and moved to Rotary Ann about two years ago.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Larsen and Mrs. Nora Daggett of Dows, two brothers, Clarence Gangestad and Maurice Gangestad both of Eagle Grove.

Helen Josephine Gangestad was born at Holmes, and attended country school there. She married Harold King of Fort Dodge in 1921 at Omaha, Neb. She had lived some of the time in Fort Dodge until 1955. Mr. King died in 1968. Mrs. King came to Eagle Grove two years later to reside at the Rotary Ann Home.

She was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church.

Helen Josephine Gangestad was born November 8, 1884, the daughter of Necolai and Emma Caroline Everson Gangestad, near Holmes, Iowa.

She was educated in the country school near Holmes.

She was united in marriage to Harold Elroy King of Fort Dodge in 1921 at Omaha, Nebr.

The couple lived in Fort Dodge on and off till 1955, as she was traveling with Mr. King in his business as a Plumber and Steamfitter. They lived in Des Moines for about 20 years during this period of time.

They retired and settled in Iowa Falls where Mr. King passed away in September of 1968. Mrs. King came to the Rotary Ann Home two years, later and has lived there since that time.

She passed away there on Monday, March 4, 1974, at the age of 89 years, 3 months and 26 days.

She is survived by two brothers: Clarence Gangestad, Eagle Grove; and Maurice Gangestad, Eagle Grove; and two sisters: Mrs. Nora Daggett, Dows; and Mrs. Clarence Larsen, Dows. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 7 at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home. Pastor P. L. Mork, Forest City, officiated and burial was in the Holmes Lutheran Cemetery, Holmes.
