E. L. Farlin, Formerly of This City, Dies in Iowa City.

E. L. Farlin, of Eagle Grove, who formerly owned the White Front bakery here, died at a hospital in Iowa City last night. He was taken to Iowa City late Sunday evening by Fred L. Miller, of this city.

Mr. Farlin is survived by his wife and one son Le Vay.

Internal hemorrhages and paralysis caused his death. He was about 50 years old.

Funeral Services For E. L. Farlin At Eagle Grove

Funeral services for E. L. Farlin, 49, who died at a hospital in Iowa City Monday night, will be held at the Kubitschek & Kastler undertaking parlors at Eagle Grove tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Burial will be made in Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove.

He was a member of the Masons, the Elks, the A. O. U. W. and the Modern Woodman of America. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Anna Farlin; one son, Le Vay Farlin, of St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Sam Dean, of Clarence, and one grandson. Mr. and Mrs. Farlin have conducted the Home bakery at Eagle Grove for the past five years, going there from Webster City.

Proprietor of Home Bakery to be Buried in Rose Hill Cemetery this Afternoon.

Emory L. Farlin, 49, died at the university hospital at Iowa City, Monday, Feb. 29, at 9:25 p. m. He had been in poor health for more than a year and had been seriously ill for the past five weeks. He was taken to Iowa City in the Webster City Masonic ambulance early Monday morning. The nature of his trouble was not determined prior to his death and a post mortem was held from which no reports had been received at this writing. The body was brought to Eagle Grove Wednesday morning.

Funeral services will be held at the Kubltschek & Kastler funeral home this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. W. L. Breaw in charge. Burial will take place in Rose Hill cemetery. The Webster City and Eagle Grove Masonic lodges will have charge of the funeral services at the grave.

Mr. Farlin moved to Eagle Grove from Webster City about four years ago and started the home bakery. Prior to coming here he had been in the bakery business In Webster City for ten years. He was born in Lucas county, Iowa, in 1883. Mr. Farlin was at one time engaged in the bakery business at Chariton.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Raymond Le Vay of St. Louis and one granddaughter, Charlene. A sister, Mrs. Lillie Dean of Clarence, Iowa, also survives. Mr. Farlin was a member of the Masonic lodge at Webster City, the Elks, A. O. U. W., and Modern Woodmen.

Transcriber’s Note: Emory Loyd Farlin middle name was taken from his U. S. World War I Draft Registration Card, signed and dated, September 12, 1918, he was living in Webster City, Hamilton, Iowa. On January 22, 1902, he was married to Anna H. Repp in the First United Presbyterian Church, Albia, Monroe, Iowa.
