PARALYSIS FATAL TO MS. M. RAMER
Eagle Grove Woman, Victim of Stroke Friday Morning As She was Preparing for Christmas with Her Son.
Mrs. Matt Ramer died at her home in this city early Friday morning. She was at work in the basement of her home when she collapsed and died within an hour. Mrs. W. J. Reynolds, who lived at the Ramer home, heard Mrs. Ramer fall and went to her assistance. She summoned Dr. Morse who found that there was nothing he could do for her and she died within an hour after his arrival.
At the time of her passing she was getting ready to go to Rockford, Ill., to spend Christmas at the home of her son, Fred Ramer.
She is survived by two sons, Fred of Rockford, Ill., and Leonard of Luverne, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart church Monday morning and burial was in Calvary cemetery.
Obituary
Miss Mary Schulz was born at Elma, Iowa, Feb. 5, 1871 [1872]. Her parents lived in a little log cabin on what was then Iowa prairie land. She was united in marriage with Matthew Ramer at Kasson, Minn. June 6, 1891. They made their home at Carroll, Iowa, and in 1896 moved to Eagle Grove where Mr. Ramer continued his service for the Northwestern as engineer. Two children survive, Fred of Rockford, Ill., and Leonard of Luverne. Mrs. Ramer is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Northey of Spear Fish, S. D, and two brothers, John and Lewis Schulz of Huron, S. D. John Schulz attended the funeral, but sickness prevented Mrs. Northey and Lewis Schulz from coming. The funeral services were held in the Sacred Heart church on Monday morning and burial was in Calvary cemetery by the side of her husband, who died after a 12 hour illness in May, 1922.
Those attending the funeral from out of the city in addition to those mentioned above were: Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ramer, Windom, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. John Ramer and daughter, Gregory Ramer, and Miss Mary Ramer, all of Algona. The sympathy of the entire community is extended the bereaved sons and other relatives.
