HANNAH JORGINA JOHNSON
Hannah Jorgina Tokheim was born March 3, 1894, at Thor, the daughter of Jorgen and Anna Tokheim Tokheim. She received her education in the Thor schools. Hannah was baptized in the Lutheran faith on April 22, 1894, and was confirmed on October 25, 1908. She was united in marriage to Carl G. Johnson of Thor, on March 10, 1921, at the Ullensvang Lutheran Church, Thor. They farmed near Thor until moving to Thor in 1950. Mr. Johnson died October 13, 1970. Hannah lived in Thor until moving to Marshalltown in 1982, to live with her daughter, Agnes Orsland, and son-in-law, Joseph.

Her health failed and she entered the Villa Del Sol Care Center, Marshalltown in 1987. Hannah Tokheim Johnson died August 8, 1988, at the age of 94 years, five months, and five days, at the Villa Del Sol Care Center in Marshalltown. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Richard; son-in-law, Joseph Orsland; five brothers, Ole; Albert; George; and Nels; two sisters, Julie Hesjke, and Martha Tokheim; and another brother named Ole. She is survived by one son, Harold C. Johnson, Thor; two daughters, Agnes Orsland, Marshalltown; Mrs. Paul (Arlene) Sweeney, Urbandale; 10 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Hannah was an active lifetime member of the Ullensvang Lutheran Church, Thor, and in the ladies aid circle and Hobby Club, and regularly attended the Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, while living with her daughter.

Funeral services for Hannah J. Johnson were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 1988, at the Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor, with the Rev. John Sersland, pastor, and the Rev. Dr. John Allen, pastor of the Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, officiating. Burial was in the East Ullensvang Cemetery, Thor. The Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
