July 15, 1941 --- December 12, 1984

Daryl D. Babcock, 43, of Route 2, Mount Vernon, died of liver failure Wednesday night at Mercy Hospital. Born July 15, 1941, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, he lived in Fort Dodge, Iowa, before moving to Cedar Rapids in 1955. He married Josephine Timm on Dec. 4, 1960, at Cedar Rapids. In 1978 he became owner-operator of the Lighthouse Inn. Survivors include his wife; a foster daughter, Tammy Spencer, at home; his parents, Homer and Irene Wicks of Eagle Grove; two sisters, Delores Murtha of Albuquerque, N.M., and Patricia Hood of Blue Earth, Minn.; and three brothers, Richard Rice of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Charles Babcock of rural Mount Vernon, and Larry Wicks of Cedar Rapids.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids, by Terry D. Houser. Burial: Campbell Cemetery, near Mount Vernon. Friends may call at the chapel from 2 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday. A memorial fund has been established.
