Edith G. Rae, 96, of Joplin. Mo., formerly of Eagle Grove, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at the National Health Care in Joplin, Mo.

Graveside services were held Monday, August 2, 2004, at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Paul Peebler, officiating.

Edith Gertrude Rae was born February 9, 1908, in Harrisburg, Ill., the daughter of Thomas J. and Anna C. (Matzut) Bedford. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth. On August 20, 1941, she married Donald Spurgeon Rae in Chicago. They lived in Chicago until 1949, when they moved to Eagle Grove. Edith worked as a beautician out of her home in Eagle Grove. Memorial Contributions may be directed to National Health Care of Joplin, 2700 E. 34th St., Joplin, Mo. 64804.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Pardun and her husband, Frank, of Joplin, Mo., a son, Thomas Manaois and his wife, Mary Bell, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., 13 grandchildren: Lori, Amy, Timothy, Tamara, Debra, Sammie, Janie, Roger, and Ricky, and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald, in 1986; a son, Raymond Manaois, and brothers Raymond Jordan and Denver Bricker.

Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
