August 22, 1892 --- January 13, 1981

Glen [Glenn] W. Baker, the son of George and Ella Mae Nickerson Baker, was born on August 22, 1892 at Webster City. He died on Tuesday evening, Jan. 13, 1981 at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City. He attained the age of 88 years, 14 months and 21 days.

Glen grew up in the Eagle Grove area. On January 28, 1925, he was united in marriage with Lulu Belle Fisher at Eagle Grove. The couple farmed near Eagle Grove for several years. In 1954, they moved to a farm near Belmond. In 1956, the couple moved to Eagle Grove. In October 1980, Mrs. Baker died. Glen continued to live at home and had been in the hospital for two days.

He is survived by his son, George and his wife, Bernadine Baker of Mason City; his grandchildren, LuAnn, Mrs. Tom Wilcox, Kurt Baker, Cheryl Baker and David Baker; his great-grandson, Nicholas Wilcox; his sister, Mrs. Edna Peterson of Pontiac, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Harold and Wilbur, an infant sister, Ella Mae and a sister, Mrs. Galatea Weedman.

Funeral services for Glen W. Baker were held on Friday, Jan. 16, 1981at 2 p.m. at the Eagle Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Charles Dutton officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.

Visitation was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
