Robert James Fisher was born on March 6, 1978, at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised in Eagle Grove, Iowa, and graduated from the Eagle Grove High School in 1996. During high school, he enjoyed participating in wrestling, football, and show choir—he loved music. He was employed by Miller Grain in Goldfield, Iowa, at the time of his death. He had also worked for Asgrow Seed Company in Clarion, Iowa.

Robert James Fisher died Friday, July 23,1999, from injuries sustained in a two car accident that happened six miles east of Clarion, on Highway 3, at the age of 21.

He is survived by his mother, Pam Koob, Clarion; his father, Robert P. Fisher, and wife Virginia, Des Moines, Iowa; his girlfriend, Shara Montag; one brother, Justin Fisher, Des Moines; his step-brother and sister, Victor Scalco and Kristen Scalco, Des Moines; grandparents, Betty Koob, Eagle Grove; Bonnie Sullivan, Des Moines; and Paul Schaffer, Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Robert Reekie; and his grandfather, Robert Koob.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. at the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastors Paul and Susan Stone officiating. Burial was held in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.

Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
